Twigman
We are in discussions at the moment with a USA promoter with a view to doing an 8 date tour of USA next spring. I'm assuming I would need a P-1B visa to go. Have any of you ever had a P-1B USA visa? How painful is the process of getting one? How much is the process likely to cost? How long does it take? Am I correct in my assumption that this is the visa I need to tour USA?
EliasMooseblaster
Based on what I've heard from others applying for various US visas, green cards, etc, I suspect your avatar may sum up how you feel by the time you've completed the application! Bassman Steve
And, of course, they'll see the avatar and refuse your visa on the basis you're a possible terrorist threat.

ChunkyMunky
Truthfully, it be fine. I came VERY close to filling out an F1/M1 visa and that wasn't as painful as I expected. Just expect a trip up to the embassy with little notice.
acidbass
Expect an Embassy/Consulate visit where they grill you as if you're already the poster boy for Al Qaeda! Aside from that - apply WELL in advance of your trip (10-12 weeks) and don't be surprised if there are admin errors, particularly Stateside. The Visa interview also costs money - I think it is currently around £130. Also - I know it seems obvious, but definitely declare any convictions or mishaps if you are unfortunate enough to have them. This complicates the process, but if you don't mention it, they will find out anyway and then you'll be declined.
