Roland Rock
I just found out today that my two basses used to belong to the same person. The first I bought directly from him, and the second I bought from a shop, but only discovered today that that was his too! So I've convinced him that I'm not a creepy stalker, but I suppose we must have very closely aligned tastes and requirements when it comes to basses (neither is particularly conventional) Anyone else seem to gravitate towards a certain individual's gear? smaz
Most things that Stealth on here sells end up going through my hands... Doesn't help that I live 5 minutes walk from him! I've got a couple of basses that used to belong to Clarky - 50% of my collection, so I guess that's a lot!
mep
I bought my Ray and 2 speakersfoff a friend of mine, at different times though. We both use TE heads so I won't be buying that off him. Edited June 29, 2015 by mep

KevB
I bought one of my current basses from a bc'er and then another 18 months down the line decided that another bass I had was now surplus to requirements because of this purchase and ended up putting it up for sale here. The bc'er I'd previously bought from ended up buying the 'surplus' bass from me! Considering how many members we have and in all the years I've been here I've only bought one bass and sold 2 through bc I thought it was a bit of a coincidence. I have no idea who the other 2 basses I have belonged to before me, both through eBay. I know the US jazz I bought represented a big financial loss to the previous owner because he'd left the shop receipt (Denmark Street)in the hard case when I picked it up. Roland Rock
Haha, yeah, some people on BC buy and sell so often, having several of their pieces is just plain probable 😀 I suppose if you had a good experience with a seller, especially if they live nearby, then it could be a deciding factor when buying. JTUK
I have an old bass and an amp that happened to be owned by Paul Turner. The bass took a convoluted path, but he recognised it, but the amp came direct. He has good taste in gear.

Shaggy
I once accidentally stalked a guy- Firstly, I joined a Gibson leaning vintage guitar forum to ask a specific question about Gibson three point bridges, and a couple of chaps there were very helpful. Completely separately, whilst planning to add some pickups to my Squier Precision TB I came across a super cool Tele bass with an Alembic p-bass pickup in it. It was similar to what I wanted to do, and was just cool as hell! On an unrelated note, whilst nerding up on Gibson EB-0s and Melody Maker basses I randomly clicked on a guy's soundcloud, and really dug what I heard- mudbuckers, fuzz, and improvised space rock! Slowly but surely the screen-names started to look familiar, and I realised that the Gibson guy, the 'Telembic' guy, and the mud-fuzz guy were all one and the same! By pure chance, I had completely separately found and dug his basses and the music he made on them! I didn't think of it until I mentioned it on that first forum, but I think it crept him out, and it left me feeling a bit weird too. Regardless, those basses and tunes were pretty cool!
Excellent - and I hope you've checked out http://www.flyguitars.com run by our own EvilLordJuju I generally seem to trade / deal with the same BC'ers, traded a a load of gear with a member whose name starts with "B" and ends with "eedster" including no less than THREE double-deals, i.e. one has sold to the other and then bought it back again!
