jassbass Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I just dont know which 5er to get.hard to try them as never close enough,i have a sire v7 and love it.i just want a second 5er G& l m2500 G&l l2500 Another sire My max is £600 thats pushing it so less really Any other ideas?thanx Quote
Fisheth Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 It's at the lower end of the range, but I really like the Squier VM fivers they've put out. Quote
cocco Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I love my L2000. I have an Ibanez SR605 which is a pretty sweet 5er for under £600. worth a look! Quote
ezbass Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 If you can stretch a little further, a 2nd hand Ibanez SR1605 is within your reach. Quote
Mykesbass Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Some nice Cort models in and well below that price point. Pretty sure they make the G&L tributes. Quote

I think the SR705 just makes your budget Passive: Squier VM P5 (massive value at not much over £200). Yamaha BB425 or BB1025. Quote
Ghost_Bass Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 What sound are you looking for? Active or passive? Pickup config? String spacing? There's a lot of really nice 5'ers on the market in that price range, i'm inclined to suggest Yamaha, from personal taste, but i don't know if their sound would suit you... we need more info. Quote
jassbass Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Think ibanez sr string spacing too tight Under £600 really Just needs widish string spacing and under £ 600 I like jazz types plus humbucker at back and jazz at front Thanx Quote
jassbass Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Ive had a vmp5 was good and a 55-01 both good Quote
jassbass Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Brubaker mjx 5 from bass direct i can get for £475.any one tried one I like the bb1025 but maybe just out of range Quote
Machines Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 That Brubaker felt like a log. Seemed too hefty, didn't like the satin finish either. I'd suggest a Lakland 55-01, again. Quote
jassbass Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 I think the 55.01 was to mellor for me Maybe between the g&l l2500 and m2500 Or another sire v7,a bit mad having 2 basses the same though, different colour maybe Quote
Woodinblack Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) Two posts above yours there was a Ibanez 1205, which is a very good deal. -- Oh, ignore that, see you already commented. Edited June 30, 2015 by Woodinblack Quote
jassbass Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 A hamer 5? Dont know them Id like the ibanez if it had wider spacing Quote
