merello
Double necked single neck bass! Look for the sunny side up double necked bass! http://www.inspire-instruments.de As you scroll over, it shows the back of the bass! merello
There's a video of Leo Lyons playing it. Fretless on one side, fretted the other. Novel idea.
goonieman
That be fugly. Is it Klingon Starship - inspired? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klingon_starships Edited July 7, 2015 by goonieman
kodiakblair
Yeah saw a video today on FB. Cracking idea and using a footpedal to swap between sides is genius. Simple but still genius
HowieBass
Buckle rash not a problem here but cheese grater belly (or worse) might be...
alyctes
I bet the neck's proper uncomfortable. But I guess you might get used to it.

discreet
Not for me - I get enough hernia trauma from a normal smooth-backed bass! *Carefully adjusts truss*

KevB
The fretted side looks like a startled bison wearing wraparound shades. Must reduce my medication. Or possibly up it.
Ghost_Bass
It should be impossible to gig. would anybody feel confortable having a fretboard and strings on the back of you normal basse's neck? Try it, flip your bass around and rub your hand across the FB... IMHO this is top candidate for "2015´s world stupidest idea" In fact, this issue (fretted/fretless) has already been solved in a more classy way: https://youtu.be/MViWP44Abt8 https://youtu.be/ft3t0YjfXEc By this guy: https://www.facebook.com/MikeyGuitars Edited July 9, 2015 by Ghost_Bass

kodiakblair
The Mickey bass is fantastic but why is nobody making them. The web page is dead and last FB entry 2012.
Ghost_Bass
Yep, i think he hasn't made the best pub for his invention. It's by far one of the best ideas anybody had regarding bass building in the last decades. He could have registerd the patent and licensed it to the big dogs, i'm sure that a few would have picked this up (not Fender obviously). This design has a few years but i see that a big lot of people still don't know it exists.
