Except it is a killer rugby world cup game... and [s]will[/s] has pretty much [s]define[/s] put paid to England's chances.

Fixed to reflect the bitter truth :(

Lozz, I thought you used 2 x Tecamp Puma 300's for the shoot out not a single 900!
In the end we couldn`t get two 300s so had the 300 and 900 lined up at same volume, but it worked easier just swapping one amp to the array of cabs.

I have just uploaded three short videos from the cab shootout. Normal test in the first video, cheap cab tested in the second video, mini cab tested in the third.

The sound quality is perfectly respectable. I'd be very interested in hearing the whole vid if that's at all possible.

I agree - sound was pretty good I thought.

Now we will need to question, whilst you can tell the difference in a one against one setting, could you tell the difference and would the result be the same in a band scenario???

[sup]Also it would be fairer to give something an out of 10 score as one cab may be everyones second favourite and no ones first yet come last (if you see what I mean)? [/sup]

Videos of TrevorR's Wal talk are now up - 4 parts. Apologies for the iffy sound and the shaking in some places - the acoustics of the large room and my position in the audience weren't always helpful.

Part 1: https://youtu.be/Cot2EN0JrS0
Part 2: https://youtu.be/HpBzB-6IEnY

Part 4: https://youtu.be/qq4yNlIk6co

I am writing the customary blog with photos, these vids and Trevor's visual presentation.

Very much enjoyed your talk Trevor, it's like a walk through of your excellent website.

Do you mind if I share the links with the Wal club on talkbass?

Last youtube upload - the first 10 minutes of the talk by Andrew of D'Addario UK. The noise in the foyer makes listening a bit difficult, and it got worse as the talk progressed (there were people arriving at the bash with trolleys of gear, talking to each other, introducing themselves to Colin and Nik, etc.).

Quick question...who was the member who had the Alpha/A/Alpher bass? If you were standing at the back of the stage looking out towards the seating, he was at the 2.00 o'clock position.

Fantastic blog Silvia. Great photos.

And it answered a bit of brain fade that's been bothering me ever since. Had a lovely chat with Rumblefish and Mybass but couldn't for the life of me remember where I knew Pete from... Of course, seen him playing several times with the great Buddy Whittington. And playing his nice hand made basses too... D'oh!

Very nice event. Don't know how, but I managed to miss the jam room completely :/ Won a Joni Mitchell live dvd with Jaco, Pat & Co though, so all good. Next time I'll contribute to the raffle in some worthy way. Enjoyed all the talks, and chats with basschatters too. Finally had a chance to check out a Sire Marcus bass in flesh - it was a lefty, but we compared it meticulously to my righty japanese Fender Marcus, and well, the differences are in design (preamp etc), not in quality. But that's for another thread, so I won't continue. Also an Alpher (also a first for me, although I've been following them for a while now), a bitsa with a Status neck (my bucketlist), so many Wals in one place, the cab shootout, it was all fantastic. I'm very happy these things happen and to have become a part of the community. Massive thanks to Nick, Hamster, Silvia and everyone involved.
