neilp
I've always used my Dynacord BS412 for practice as well as gigging, but now I've moved into a very small house (long story) and don't have room for that as well as my double bass in the front room! Need a small combo that might double up for small gigs as well. Any ideas? Thinking about a Laney RB3? Thanks Neil
badboy1984
Markbass stuff is pretty compact, powerful and light.
GCYPbass
+1 for what Badboy suggested but If you are looking for cheaper option I would suggest you to try new Fender Rumble series combos. I have been using Rumble 100 for band practices and small gigs. They are very small, light and loud. neilp
Thanks guys! I have to confess I'm a bit stuck in the Dark Ages when it comes to amplification! I would ideally like something that feels as bombproof as the Dynacord, but that's not going to be easy! I'll take a look at both those options
Lozz196
Depends on budget of course, but either of the makes recommended have combos good enough for both home use and small gigs. Edited July 10, 2015 by Lozz196
ambient
I use a Phil Jones Bass Double Four combo. Teeny little thing, that sounds amazing. I also use it for gigs, though I only play jazz, but that is with a drummer, keys, guitar and sax. It has a DI out, so you could DI into a PA for larger gigs. badboy1984
As long as the amp is loud enough on stage then is not a problem to me. DI is the key
