danbowskill
Yet again i'm having another crack at fuzz in my sound.Iv'e tried so many (budget and pricey) and loved some but never got on with them in a mix....,so i thought i'd give this new builder(LUCID AUDIOFX) a shot . This is a bass friendly take on the fuzz factory, only just had a quick fly through on my practice amp and initial thoughts are ace (this thing is nuts). I'm going to whack up some sound samps and a little review after iv'e taken it to practice.[attachment=196092:ped2.JPG][attachment=196093:ped 1.JPG]
dannybuoy
Looks cool, the Fuzz Factory never had much in the way of low end as was fussy with actives, so the blend/bass/impendance controls are all good additions!
danbowskill
Used it at practice nast night, the fuzzoptomus sounds fantastic and cuts wonderfully (the best yet) ................ but still try as i do ,i'm not convinced fuzz will ever be for me :-( .give this un some thought as to keep it or trade/sell in pursuit of "THAT" overdrive
danbowskill
As awsome as this is ,it is wasted on me :-( off in to the classified
dannybuoy
... and I've snagged it! I've tried many fuzzes and the only ones I would never sell are the Team Awesome Fuzz Machine (also fuzz face based) and Prunes & Custard - which is quite an old pedal now that doesn't get many mentions, but I heard a demo of it recently that sold me on it, picked one up on eBay and it's incredible. If you are still looking for THAT overdrive - the Bearfoot Blueberry is it for me. The closest I have found to replicating the feel of playing through a cranked amp at low volume levels! dannybuoy
It's a very nice fuzz - lots of variation and bags of low end. A bit tricky to dial in though as the 8 control knobs are unlabelled, the bass control works the opposite way around to what you'd expect, as does the blend, and the blend is implemented like the Darkglass pedals, where the volume knob only affects the fuzz portion rather than being a master volume. I need to spend a little more time with it to see what it's capable of!
