thebeat Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Bought this on the 'bay...absolutely great sound and lovely to play....looks really aged for a 5 year old instrument: Quote
markytbass Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hmmm nice bass. I had an old 78 P that was similar in colour, perhaps more banana yellow. Quote
thebeat Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008
Mmm custard.
3 day old custard!!! Forgot to say. It's a Highway 1 in 'Honey Blonde' built in 2003. I already have the Controversial P Special but it has and Aguilar Pre in it and it's just a bit to complex for me , the highway One is much lighter too I like the simplicity of this beast thoug i'm tempted to chuck a jazz neck on it. kevbass Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Nice! that'll look even better when you get some gigging wear and tear mojo on it! Nice score Quote
Dr.Dave Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 That does look good to me - not so sure about the Pickguard. I'd ram the vintage look down throats with a nice aged 'smokers teeth' cream. Don't treat it like a new born baby and it'll look stunning in a year or two - bit of 'forearm rub' showing - that sort of thing. Quote

JimBobTTD Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 That's lovely. I'd leave it as it is - non-vintage scratchplate and all. It may look better with a cream 'plate further down the line, though. Quote
Rayman Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Did someone say mojo'd Highway 1s? Great basses, and I wouldn't mind a P to go with my jazz. Nice P indeed. Quote

Rayman Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Ebay. It's a Vince Ray design, I'm a big fan of his artwork. Quote
