I bought another uneeded instrument last week which arrives tommmorow. The wife is going to flip....

So... The 5 most funny inventive lies / excuses will be sent these.

I don't need the strap-locks but my mate told his wife he'd put his name in a lucky draw hat in a guitar shop (and was sharp enough to tell her that he'd got a "CONGRATULATIONS, you've won" e-mail and that his prize was on the way)

She even pointed out that the shop were a bit slow in not taking advantage of the photo opportunity when handing over the prize

I pulled the ring out from my Prince Albert while cleaning my bass. I'm worried about the hole closing up, so if you send me a pair of these I can use them to bung the eye open before I get to the Blacksmith's

Do what I do, and say you swapped it for other bass bits you had lying around in a trade deal. If your missus is anything like mine, she knows the basses I have, but doesn't have a clue about amps, cabs, pedals or other bits.
