LewisK1975
Just come across this online - Wondering if this could be considered normal from a 70's Fender? Part of the Logo is actually under the string tree! BTW I am not suggesting in any way, shape or form that this is not a genuine Fender, before anyone launches into me! (I blacked out the full serial) Edited July 13, 2015 by LewisK1975

ikay
Not normal no (whatever that means for a 70s Fender ), but here's another 1976 P with a similarly placed logo - https://reverb.com/i...bass-1976-black Normal would be more like this - http://www.vintagean...6-Natural-46183 Edited July 13, 2015 by ikay

Good to know it's not unusual though!
Tom Jones used to apply the headstock decals in the mid seventies, when Q.C. asked him if that's the position he normally fitted them Mr. Jones replied...... ..... "It's not unusual!" I didn't even take my coat off!
gary mac
I've had 70's Fenders with part of the logo under a tuner bushing.
Jono Bolton
The logo on Marcus Miller's Jazz was in a similar position and they even used to do the same on the production models. I think they've changed it on the newer ones though.
RhysP
It's a '76 - Fender quality control was at an all-time low then.
