76 P-bass - poorly placed headstock logo

Just come across this online - Wondering if this could be considered normal from a 70's Fender? Part of the Logo is actually under the string tree!

BTW I am not suggesting in any way, shape or form that this is not a genuine Fender, before anyone launches into me!

(I blacked out the full serial)

Not normal no (whatever that means for a 70s Fender ), but here's another 1976 P with a similarly placed logo - https://reverb.com/i...bass-1976-black
Normal would be more like this - http://www.vintagean...6-Natural-46183

Yes this is what I thought, of the two 70's Precisions I've owned (both 78's) neither of them were that poorly placed. Good to know it's not unusual though!

Tom Jones used to apply the headstock decals in the mid seventies, when Q.C. asked him if that's the position he normally fitted them Mr. Jones replied......

..... "It's not unusual!"

I didn't even take my coat off!
