DolganoFF Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 This is one G&L you won't see often (or ever!) Quote
Graham Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Not seen one of those before, love the pickup placement, what is it? Quote
DolganoFF Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 It's a 1500, heavily customized (added neck pickup, changed electronics.) I personally find this pickup configuration better than the 2000's, the bridge pup in stingray position makes it really useful by itself and it blends perfectly with the neck pup too. Wish it were mine Quote
Graham Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 That pickup placement makes a lot more sense to me than the standard L2000 position Quote
DolganoFF Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) If one day I find a reasonably priced 1500, and happen to have the money, I'll snatch it and do the same mod. Edited May 25, 2016 by DolganoFF Quote
GazWills Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 this is my (for the time being) LB100. I have it up for sale, as I'm just not connecting with it... but the longer it stays in the FS ads, the more likely I'll end up keeping it! Quote

[/quote] That is such a looker, I keep on visiting your ad for a look. Just not actually looking at buying another G&L at the moment. If I was looking for a P bass to gig, even though I love Fender P's, I would more than likely go for one of these. Quote

dub_junkie Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) 1996 G&L L-5500 (the one with the EMG 40dc pickups and BTC active circuit) Played one in McCormacks Music in Glasgow around 20 years or so ago and liked it. Finally got one and I’m pleased as punch with it. Bit of a weighty bugger but I’m sure this thing is going to sound great at my next band practice. Sounds great solo’d too. Just not like any G&L I heard/played/owned before. Edited July 15, 2021 by dub_junkie 2 Quote
dub_junkie Posted June 9, 2020 Author Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) Picked up a pair of Tributes in the last week. Jezzaboy sold me his LB-100 and and I bought the sunburst JB from Guitar Guitar. The third bass is my sonic blue Tribute JB-2. Edited July 15, 2021 by dub_junkie 1 Quote
Delberthot Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 The pictures of my long gone Colonel Mustard L-2000 are probably long gone as they were on photobucket so here they are again: 3 Quote
