Colonel36
Noel was on" Desert Island discs". What a great listen and what a great guy.
lojo
The Noel thing has been done before, I find him entertaining, love or hate him, he's a clever guy who came from a humble background and went for his dream.
4-string-thing
Even if his records have been less than great, he is always good for a laugh, and he does seem to be a nice bloke. He seems to have a nice, dry sense of humour.
CamdenRob
Am I seeing a different guy to everyone else? I cannot stand the man... I'm indifferent to his music but as a person he comes across as a prize bell end.

I dont mind Noel, he has at least some talent. Edited July 20, 2015 by Hobbayne
51m0n
Only time I've ever listened to a word come out of his mouth and didnt think "twunt", shows him in a rather different light actually... Still can't staand Oasis though
Musicman20
Whatever the thoughts on Noel, his band(s), in particular Oasis, have influenced a generation and will continue to. I remember growing up listening to Nirvana and more punk orientated music, but I have always thought Oasis are/were brilliant.

Bassmonkey
I think he is a funny guy. Loved Oasis and like NGHFBs. Their performance on T in the park was great. Each to his own I guess. Didn't catch the Radio 4 show but am interested to hear what his choices were? assume The Smiths were included?
KevB
I didn't hear the programme but the list is here: http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/eight-songs-noel-gallagher-would-take-to-a-desert-island-and-why-playlist

Listen to him talk about his upbringing, drink/drugs....his wife, song at his wedding , kids. Great attitude I thought. Still can't stand him, then fair enough. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062hplj#auto
RockfordStone
i quite like both the gallaghers, they are both up their own arses with ego's the size of the empire state building, but they are well aware of it and don't care. noel however is funny and to be fair talented. Marvin
I listened to the Radio4 programme, I decided it was good. Noel, he seems a decent sort really. From what he's said in interviews he seems very grateful to the people who've bought and liked his songwriting. Liam I can tolerate when noise, of any sort, isn't emanating from his oral cavity. spectoremg
Always liked the man and Oasis. Good song choice. He's one of those guys the tabloids love to hate which colours peoples perceptions of him.
YouMa
Kudos to the man,it must have a tough choice to leave lady penelope and start a new career.
cheddatom
I think he's written some great songs, but I wouldn't listen to them. I don't really know why people think he's an arse, but it's probably justified. I caught most of this program while I was in the car and I thought he came across as really nice and quite clever
