Hunting down squier classic vibe jazz? Harder to find...

Hi All,

Anyone notice that squier seem to have discontinued their original line of classic vibes? I'm after a 2nd hand 60s one and they just do not appear in classifieds or shops!

I guess they were threatening the MIM sales - and others. It's a shame they only have the new J bass line in Inca silver. I preferred the old white ones.

If they brought a new line in daphne/sonic blue or seafoam it would be game over for me. I guess all those predictions about these being 'future classics' are looking to come true. I remember when they first came out they were around £220 new! Now they're 350!

It's the same with the 60s p-basses, I have GAS for a sonic blue one, two have come up here recently but I haven't been able to get the funds together. Played an oly White jazz yesterday (new) and it was blinking great!

Here's one that was in the For Sale section, doesn't say it was sold. I was interested in this when it came up but bought a Matt Freeman Precision instead.

I had a CV P bass, in Fiesta red, and I foolishly sold it
They have obviously been discontinued now, as there aren't any more in the shops near me

Perhaps they were indeed, selling better than the Mex Fender range
I played a couple of both Mex and China made CV basses,
and the CV's won hands down IMO
Or maybe they think they've sold as many as they can in those designs / colours
and are planning another series?

A few come up, second-hand, but they seem to sell very quickly
I think they will indeed become future classics - they are just top-notch quality
and feel great to play, while sounding fab too...

Think I want to trace down another CV P in Fiesta Red,
..... and this time keep it :)

Good luck with your search
I saw that one for sale on here - go for it ;)

Drat - I never saw those. I already bought a warwick rockbass fretless on a whim - so the CV GAS will have to hold off a while...

I think you may require slightly more patience next time the CV GAS kicks in . :-)
