dave_bass5 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) EDIT: Price dropped to £310 to reflect what i need to get back for a new cab. I got the above bass just under a year ago from the Yamaha shop in London. The cost was £540 Here's what Yamaha say about it (and its all true) http://uk.yamaha.com...505/?mode=model Ive used it quite a bit but recently its not getting out much, due to my Sire V7 taking over the role as my main 5 string. Its in very good condition. I cant see any scratches or marks on it other than one small (3-5mm round) dent in the finish with ill try and photograph on request. Its not noticeable at all unless the light is right, and its on the back right down by the CE markings. No buckle rash either. Its been well looked after. Its quite light for a 5 string, 8.4lbs, and shorter than my P and Jazz basses. I find its the easiest bass i have for travelling. I love the tone from this bass. Its a bit bland ut this works well for me as it fits in with most styles. The B string is usable, but not cant compete with a longer scale or higher quality bass. It works for me but i know B strings can be quite subjective. Although the bass doesn't come with a bag from Yamaha ill put it in a Thomanns padded gig bag. As above i dont want to post this. Its more a question of finding the time and packaging as much as it is about wanting the buyer to be happy before taking it. Im looking to fund a Barefaced cab so no trades wanted, im sorted for basses any way. and the gig bag http://www.thomann.d...tric_guitar.htm Edited July 28, 2015 by dave_bass5
dave_bass5 Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Ooops, double post. Can a mod please remove one of them. Thanks,.
Oopsdabassist Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Interesting colour, when you say quite light, can you be more specific please? My TRB 5 is killing my back, so a lighter Yam is tempting
dave_bass5 Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Ah, sorry, i forgot that bit. Ill amend the top post but its 8.4lbs. Not ultra light but my Sire is 9.8lbs so to me its light.
Oopsdabassist Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 ooooh..TRB weighs in at 10.4lbs...getting interested now! Anyone fancy a gorgeous teal green TRB 5 so I can raise funds?
ras52 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Gorgeous. Is the spec you linked to correct re. nut width? It says 43mm, which is narrower than a BB**5 or Ibanez SR**5?
dave_bass5 Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Yeah, it's very narrow. This was the reason I got it. I love how it plays as I'm not a lover of P width necks.
Oopsdabassist Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 hmmm any idea what the string spacing is? My TRB is 18mm so looking for something similar really.
dave_bass5 Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 According to the spec in the link i posted its 18mm. Ill measure it tonight to confirm though.
dave_bass5 Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 Yep, 18mm string spacing. Owing to me now wanting a cheaper cab i can drop the price to £310 collected/meet up.
dave_bass5 Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Bass now sold. Nice to meet you today Russ. It was nice having a chat. Thanks for taking this off my hands and i hope you enjoy it. Ill leave feedback tonight.
