Twincam
Checkout the "custom" string design. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IBANEZ-ICEMAN-ICB200-BASS-GUITAR-/271937524821?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f50bd5455
tauzero
Saves having to buy a new set of strings. Wonder if the bandage round the C string at the nut is to stop the string moving around in the nut or to conceal the end of the nut having fallen off? Twincam
Yeah the dodgy nut doctoring and the interesting string arrangement to the machine head suggest nut problems possibly the slots cut too wide the extra tension on the string and the other bandage would stop rattling. Bassassin
The blurb says this:
I took E string out and I moved A-D-G strings one level-up. Finally, I put C string to the bottom line. Technically, I played baritone style
So light string gauges & insufficient string tension probably means neck back-bow & fret rattle/choking - hence the bit of snot-rag in the G slot, to raise the height a bit. I suspect the weird stringing is because the D (originally the G) is cut too short to reach the tuner.
tauzero
I suspect the weird stringing is because the D (originally the G) is cut too short to reach the tuner.
That was my thought - hence saying he didn't have to buy another set of strings.
