burno70 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) Love the tone out of my Ashdown Little Bastard and would love to get an all tube amp powerful enough for rehearsals. I couldn't deal with any overhang though - anyone know any all valvers that would sit nice on top? Must add - changing the cab isn't an option. Edited July 23, 2015 by burno70 Quote
sifi2112 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I used to put a Markbass Classic 300 on top of Super 12T I don't remember it over hanging ... Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I had a nice Carlsbro 100 watt PA head which was exactly the right width for this, but it's not a model you'll come across often and the simple preamp wouldn't suit everyone. I think the old Selmer Treble n' Bass heads (both 50 and 100 watt versions) are a similar size too. Alternatively, something built for rack-mounting might be worth looking at, like one of the old Peavey Classic power amps with your choice of preamp. Quote
obbm Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) According to the specification the Super 12 width is 19.5-inch which makes use of a 19-inch rack mount amp very marginal unless you have a rack case that is only 1/4-inch either side. I would suggest a Mesa Prodigy but that would probably blow the budget. Edited July 23, 2015 by obbm Quote
discreet Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Burman SL100/MPA. Again not common, but one of the best valve amps out there. Quote
