Elites strings - I can hear them deadening as I open the pack.
Ampeg - I just don't get it.
Wireless systems - Why...? Your amp is right behind you...!
LED's on the fretboard - "if my mediocre playing can't hold your attention, maybe my fairy lights will?
Basses once owned by 'stars' - Yeah, and it was so good they sold it...!

Just a bit of fun :-)

LED's on fretboards are similar to those lights that you can get that go under your car... :)
I have grown to hate Jeff Berlin; everything he says and EVERYTHING he plays. There is a trio version of his 'Bach' thing on YouTube - it is so lame it is unreal. He plays with his head and not his heart and the results are emotionally dead. His MySpace posts are excruciating. His dress sense is worse than mine and that is saying something but, hey, I am not out there in public like he is. His moustache makes him look like an ex-70s porn star and his signature basses are pitiful. His Norah Jones duets are so cringeworthy it is astonishing and his efforts at self promotion are so transparent he wouldn't be out of place on Celebrity Big Brother.

I am even getting worrried that I feel this strongly about a dork! I have no strong feelings about ANY other players but he is really getting on my t**s lately.

Or is it just me?
NO! ITS NOT JUST YOU!..........EVERYTHING THAT YOU JUST SAID!!, thank God im not alone in my random dislike for the man!

I've seen ads for coffin shaped bass cases, as well machine gun shaped basses, basses shaped like boobs (I swear) and axes (the chopping, pillaging kind, single and double headed for maximum 'slaying' power). What the hell is that all about? Strangely enough though, I've never seen any such basses in guitar shops. Where do they all go?

As for me, USA fenders, waste of money to me

P-basses, ugly as sin, horrible to play, sound like mud, everything i'd never want in a bass.

HUGE pedal boards, all you'll really ever need is a tuner and compressor and occasionally a fuzz and wah unless you're im some crazy prog band (damn that actually sounds rather good!)

valve heads, as the risk of sounding like a guitarist, it's just a bass, i know they don't just go dum dum dum like people think they do, but how much difference can a valve head REALLY make? Particularly for the money involved.
Wow, I'm surprised by the anti-Ashdown sentiments. My 2x10 cab was only just over £100, the head about £170 I think. Both are 100% reliable and loud enough to hear myself onstage [PA does the donkeywork]. For that sort of money, where's the beef?
What do you run? an electric blue? Me too, and i quite like it, there's some workable tone in there. It's not the best sounding stack, but for £250 i can't complain, and it's certainly not woolly when it's EQ'd right.

Nothing wrong with lots of pedals provided you use them properly, tbh saying "all you'll ever need is..." is a *little* old fashioned. You need whatever you need to play in the style that you play in.
Anyway I like effects.
