Hobbayne Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Apparently Bassist Earl Falconer had not been playing long before they recorded their debut album Signing Off. Lovely basslines on that one. Quote

Roland Rock Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 What I love about Signing Off is that it's a self-produced debut album, and it's that very production that makes it. Deep clear bass, soundscapes, dynamics, and Ali Campbell sitting perfectly within the mix, not the centrepiece of the song, but one of many integral parts which combine to make it more than the sum of its parts. KevB Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I still give Present Arms a spin every now and then, brings back some good memories. Quote
BrunoBass Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 I’ve been revisiting some of UB40’s early stuff recently, following the recent BBC4 doc. I lost interest once they became effectively a covers band but their first few albums are great; my gateway into reggae, and more specifically reggae and dub bass. Quote
