zomnius Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) Some basse have to go. Wal Pro bass, with 2 picks and active electronics (E) far far better to me than the pro without electronics, but that's only taste. this one is in great shape. Inc non original case & transmit. Will make some additional pics. Cheers. Edited August 5, 2015 by Rich The lack of capitalisation was doing my head in.
zomnius Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 Best Wal Headstock. 2 pickup version, gives the wal sounds you need. The E - stands for active electronics.
CamdenRob Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 If I had the cash right now this would be on its way to me already... I can only see these vintage models going up in value. Is that the original finish?
Francesco Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I'm not sure, but by the looks of it, it's a fretless? All Original?
markorbit Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I had a lovely red one of these just like Leigh Gorman's from Bow Wow Wow. A very alive sounding bass. Goes without saying I wish I had kept it.
david1711 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 And I have a very similar Wal pro iie which is two tone natural and fretless. If this has the pick up switches as well the tone will be amazing. These are only going to increase in value imho.

zomnius Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 backside p.s. the tone switches are on the side of the pickups. Indeed, big sound. Especially the E (=active) electronics does it.
Definitely fretless, It looks like a defret to me as the markers are in the middle of where the frets would be... I may be wrong though Did the Pro basses have a bit of masking tape inside the control cover like the customs? that should state the original configuration. Edited August 4, 2015 by CamdenRob
Francesco Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Thanks CamdenRob, usually the serialnumber gives a hint. Not sure if these Wals had that masking tape inside.
zomnius Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Correct, I once had a Wal Pro I, without the masking tape inside.
Another small fix my pride & joy and sole appreciating asset There's no masking tape label inside the Pro II-Es. Your best bet for establishing its original identity is either through the Wal database if it's listed, or from Wal & Pete's original notebook which I am assuming still exists and will now be in Paul's possession. Incidentally, if anyone ever comes across one of the original factory retro-fit DI kits for the Pro II-E, please let me know.

zomnius Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Thx. Although this is an original E. You can find the E - scheme on line. p.s. If anyone is interested. My daughter makes leather wal scratch plates...
2004gdavi Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Can you provide more details about the scratch plates. A photo would be nice. Thanks
zomnius Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 I will, but post it somewehere else and provide the link ok?
