Ah yes young man , age related confusion can hit when you least expect it , I reckon it was the bear and billet , that was always more of a dive , mind you in the days of my youth Bridge street was the centre of drinkage , from the saddle , Eagle , Clavvies :( , olde kings head , cross keys, bear and billet, then over the bridge for a late drink ........well last orders at 11.00 , an extra half hour in Handbridge , then queue at King kab for an hour , nostalgia isn't what it used to be !
