[/quote] Yes....Orsted Pederson was terrific, with pianist Oscar Peterson trio or duo with guitarist Joe Pass. Lot of recordings out there with Ron Carter too. Christian McBride is a great contemporary player - his Conversations with Christian album has duets with various other musicians and some great examples of how to walk unaccompanied. Anything by Blood Sweat and Tears. These are all electric bass players but some very inspiring stuff. Charles Mingus on upright also.
