jonsmith Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015
Great looking twin twin necks! Would be great to see you in a band with someone else using the second one at the same time!
Good idea! Actually, when he joined the band, our guitarist was supposed to be joining as the bass player, so maybe it will happen...Spinal Tap or not! Quote
Rich Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015
And here is another extreme double necked alembic http://www.alembic.c...doubleneck.html
I have no doubt that it is exquisitely constructed and sounds great. But my GOD that is one ugly munterfunster. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 If anyone was around Watford in about '75 or '76 you might have seen a band I roadied for called Media. 2 Shergold twin neck guitar + bass, plus bass pedals and a keybard player! I don't remember either of the guys complaining about the weight, but I did put my back out carrying the Rhodes, as a scrawny 15 yearold. Quote
toneknob Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 Here's a pic of my ex Shergold 4/8-string (and another of the one I posted earlier) - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/136439-shergold-basses/page__view__findpost__p__1235025 The 4/8 is now sold on via Wunjo to another happy twin-necker. Quote
The Funk Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015
In a moment of madness I made this. Modelled by my son.
Either you managed to make that superlight or you're going to be having an interesting conversation with your son in a few years about how he fell from the sky in a space vessel with a mysterious S symbol on his clothes. The twin neck looks great! Good work! Quote
gelfin Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 It's not as heavey as it may look. There's a large cavity behind the controls. 12.5 lbs. The shape was taken from Chris Squires Mouradian CS74. I used the necks from Westone Spectrum. As for bass pedal synth I use these.
