GILLY Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) Bought this bass from Mansons in August 2013. The colour is Translucent Gold. Never been a fan of natural finishes but this is really classy. Body wood is Ash I believe. Rosewood fingerboard. There is one little knock on the very top of the headstock, which happened on the very day I bought this bass (see photo) but it is otherwise unmarked. 9lbs according to the bathroom scales, which surprised me because it always felt light. I should point out that I had a Nordstrand MM4.2 pickup installed, but I kept the original and it will be supplied with the bass. This alone was a £100 upgrade, and well worth it in my opinion. It still sounds exactly like a Stingray but with a more even response across all four strings and a slightly more 'contained' top end. I certainly wouldn't go back to the original, but there is that option. The bass comes with a Musicman hard case. p&p certainly an option or could meet within 30 miles M5 J23. CASH SALE ONLY THANKS. GILLY Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 BUMP for a significant price drop to £675 inc p&p within UK. I had a PM asking about the neck profile and finish. The neck is not in any way chunky, as some describe them, and the action is low. The neck is unfinished on this model but is polished with gun stock wax every 6 weeks or so and is silky smooth as a result.
