Very doubtful. I've certainly never heard of the bigger companies giving out loaner basses. Your best bet is to go to shops like Bass Direct/Bass Gear that will have basses like that in stock.

Not so much of an option with Fodera but used German Warwicks go for a fraction of the new cost on the used market. I would buy one of the model your interested in from the BC marketplace (don't worry too much about colour or it being pristine) then move it on / trade it for a different one after a month or so. It's really hard to get the feel for how a bass is going to work for you long term after a 5 minute noodle in a bass shop... Give yourself the best chance of working out exactly what it is you want before plonking down that £4k...
