Happy Jack Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Celebrity-Owned-2008-Fender-Masterbuilt-Custom-Shop-Jazz-Precision-Bass-May-p-x-/181793699500?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a53bfb6ac I have absolutely no justification for emptying my piggy banks for this, so I won't, but this really does look like a very cool bass indeed. I'd love it if another Basschatter bought it ... Quote
karlfer Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Yup, looks fabulous doesn't it. Similar to the Status you had Jack? The Antigua on that looks more like the Antigua of my youth, than the 2012 RI looked. If only I had a spare £2.5k lurking. Somebody's gonna get lucky. Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Lucky? Not so sure about that - I reckon that bass is horribly overpriced. It looks like the love-child of my old Status Vintage PJ and my old Alleva-Coppolo KP5, both utterly gorgeous basses, but together worth only slightly more than this bass is listed at. I have no beef at all against Cotswold Guitars (for all I know, they're Members here on BC) but that price is pretty bloody huge! Quote
paul_5 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Yeah, for that price you could have a Wal. Not really my cup of tea. Quote
HazBeen Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 To me it looks weird. Love the hollow body, but the old style Tele neck, JJ/P and finish make it look unbalanced. Can think of a myriad of basses this money would buy.... Quote
karlfer Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Hmm, each to his/her own I guess. I've always though of WAL'S as overpriced meh, but many would strongly disagree. Whilst agreeing it is expensive, I have read many a time that Fender Custom Shop MASTERBUILT (rather than team built) carry a large price premium? Quote
