spiltmilk_2000
Hey all, quick poll... I'm in the process of spec ing a custom jazz bass. I thought being able to choose the colour would be great but it's giving me a headache :-( It'll be a 66 light relic, rosewood with blocks and binding, body colour headstock... What colour would you go for? Think I've narrowed it down to either... Burgundy mist Daphne blue Lake placid blue Shoreline gold It's a lovely dilemma to have but what would you do?? 8-/
discreet
Aged Olympic White every time. if I had to choose one from your list, then Shoreline Gold.
spiltmilk_2000
I already have aged Olympic white :-) I agree it's always a corker though and haven't ruled out entirely!

LewisK1975
From your list it would be LPB for me, would work really nice with a matching headstock I think...

JTUK
My custom colour was going to be a nice sunburst on a decent figured top as you'll see the grain.. with tort plate, RW with MoP blocks and bound. Maybe a different sunburst to stock Fender... so a decent spray job to really set the bass off.. That said... I'm sure LPB, Sea foam and a few others would work for me as well. If you really have carte blanche on the colour..check out Sims and then the websites of Sadowsky or Avella C etc... as they have just that little bit extra in colours, IMO. spiltmilk_2000
Mrs Discreet sounds like a keeper :-) JTUK - Now you've made me start thinking about which scratch plate should go with each possibility and it's become infantilely harder!!! Not sure I can cope...
dannybuoy
I've always thought burgundy mist really suited an old Jazz bass. Edited August 4, 2015 by dannybuoy
discreet
Parchment or cream with lpb, burgundy and shoreline. A good tort or white with aged oly white.
Lozz196
From the colours listed, Daphne Blue, with rosewood neck, and tort plate.
doctorbass
I've just got hold a Shoreline Gold Jazz - gorgeous! White guard and maple neck.
RhysP
Burgundy Mist.
AntLockyer
Shoreline.
Woodinblack
Has to be one of the blues I guess as the Burgundy Mist and Shoreline gold are clearly hideous colours that no poor bass should suffer the embarrassment of being covered in
tom1946
Sunset orange, but you would have to have a maple board. (Well I would

ead
I've been won over my recent Jazz bass acquisition in Daphne Blue; although I still like the classic 3TSB.
Donnyboy
Tough one , but I'd go shoreline gold.

spiltmilk_2000
Think candy apple red might have been added to the list... I thought choosing a custom colour was going to be fun but it's starting to give me sleepless nights! :-)
discreet
euw - no!
Oh - yes! That's actually Firemist Gold. To the OP - LPB is good, but don't make the mistake of having a tort guard with it... Parchment or cream.
Treb
LPB matching headstock. Pickguard parchment, cream or white perl. White perl usually matches with the block inlays nicely....
