Hey all, quick poll... I'm in the process of spec ing a custom jazz bass. I thought being able to choose the colour would be great but it's giving me a headache :-(

It'll be a 66 light relic, rosewood with blocks and binding, body colour headstock...

What colour would you go for? Think I've narrowed it down to either...
Burgundy mist
Daphne blue
Lake placid blue
Shoreline gold

It's a lovely dilemma to have but what would you do?? 8-/

I already have aged Olympic white :-) I agree it's always a corker though and haven't ruled out entirely!

Ha! I hadn't looked at your sig. Bloody hell... obviously one of each colour, then... ;)

think Mrs Spiltmilk might have something to say

If she's anything like the current mrs discreet, she'll say, 'That's nice, dear...' and get on with watching Holby, or some such...

My custom colour was going to be a nice sunburst on a decent figured top as you'll see the grain.. with
tort plate, RW with MoP blocks and bound.
Maybe a different sunburst to stock Fender... so a decent spray job to really set the bass off..

That said... I'm sure LPB, Sea foam and a few others would work for me as well.
If you really have carte blanche on the colour..check out Sims and then the websites of Sadowsky
or Avella C etc... as they have just that little bit extra in colours, IMO.

Has to be one of the blues I guess as the Burgundy Mist and Shoreline gold are clearly hideous colours that no poor bass should suffer the embarrassment of being covered in

Mrs Discreet sounds like a keeper...

Well I've kept her for nigh-on twenty years... or to be brutally honest, she's kept me!

I've been won over my recent Jazz bass acquisition in Daphne Blue; although I still like the classic 3TSB.

euw - no!

Oh - yes! That's actually Firemist Gold.

To the OP - LPB is good, but don't make the mistake of having a tort guard with it... Parchment or cream. :)

LPB matching headstock. Pickguard parchment, cream or white perl. White perl usually matches with the block inlays nicely....
