bassbiscuits Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Stupid question - but are the keys for hiscox lite flight cases all interchangeable, or all different? I ask more in hope, as someone whose case has a glitchy lock which has got stuck in the 'closed' position without a key. hmm. I also have a claw hammer which is looking tempting... Quote
mrn1989 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I can tell you when I get home from work as I have 2 hiscox and 1 key. If it does and you promise to send it back I could post the key to you and then you could send back? Quote
hubrad Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I just spoke to Hiscox.. yes, they are interchangeable. If you email Peter at Hiscox - [email protected] - he'll get one or two in the post for you! :-) Quote
Matt P Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) they're all the same, I've got about 7 or 8 of them of different ages and all the keys are identical. i could probably find you a spare key if you want? Matt Edit - beaten to it by hubrad! Hiscox are known for their aftersales, and them an email, they might be able to send you replacement catch as well, they just pop-rivet on. bassbiscuits Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Wow that's a hell of an offer mrn1989 - thanks very much - but it hasn't actually got my bass in it at the moment, so its not a total disaster. the case is open, but the locking catch is actually clamped down in the locked position, so i can't open or close that particular lock rather than the whole case. I never use the key but the mechanism inside seems to have slipped into a locked position. i guess its just as easy for me to pop to a local music shop which has them in stock and see if one key fits all in the style of a MkII Ford Cortina. uncle psychosis Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Hiscox are great for customer service. I emailed them to ask if it were possible to buy more padding for a case and a few days later a whole wad of it arrived on my doorstep free of charge! Quote
