chrisanthony1211
On the face of it these seem to be very similar combos, both light weight, both small, both pretty powerful, both packing 12 inch speakers, I currently have the Mark bass with the extension cabinet which is a pretty awesome combination of lightweight and power, but i find myself wondering whether the Tecamp may deliver a little more, and also it is available in the 212 combo, has anyone got experience of using both of these combos? BassBunny
I've had both. I was a MarkBass user, LMII with Zoot 1x12 cabs, and wondered if the Puma would be louder/better. Simple answer, in my opinion, is No. That said I do not get on with Class D amps. I find them lacking in "heft". Loud, yes, but lacked the authority of the MB class A/B. I moved the Puma on and got a CMD121p with a NY121. Awesome combination and IMHO a better solution all round. You can use the combo on it's own for rehearsals etc. and add the NY 121 when needed. My CMD was one of the last class A/B's before MB switched to a Class D output stage so my observations aren't based on current models. I still use MarkBass and having tried just about everything on the market, I can't see me ever using anything else.
fretmeister
The tecamp site says the 1x12 combo is A/B but the 2x12 is Class D.

fretmeister
Cool. I'd love a new little combo. And both of these 1x12 weigh about the same as my Berg neo cab alone. I'll have to find someone with both in stock to try them.
chrisanthony1211
I've been through a lot of high end combos in my time from Mesa walkabout to SWR redhead, and power to weight ratio the CMD121p is by far the best, not necessarily the best sounding as I've always felt that the SWR sounded the best! But sounds good enough!
