inthedoghouse Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) I really couldn't resist this beautiful '96 Warwick Fortress Flashback She completes my collection of the Fortress series along with my Fortress One and Masterman Edited February 2, 2020 by inthedoghouse Quote
cocco Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Always fancied a flashback. Great looking basses! Quote
karlfer Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I've been trying to get one of those for ages! Stunning, well done that man! Quote
fretmeister Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Man I'm jealous! I tried one about 15 years ago and I'm still gutted I didn't buy it! Quote
Roland Rock Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 My favourite looking Warwick - nice one Quote
Sibob Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 The Flashback is my fave Warwick design, I've often considered one (if I could find one), but never quite pulled the trigger I think they're cooler than the current CV range. Si Quote
Guest Jecklin Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Let's see a photo' of all three together please I own a masterman too (my only bass these days) and I'm suckered by the (fugly?) fortress shape. Quote
Guest Jecklin Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Oh and I had never realised the flashback has a unique design of bridge. Nice Quote
fretmeister Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited)
Oh and I had never realised the flashback has a unique design of bridge. Nice
That's a 2-Tek bridge. It was an optional extra with extra money above the standard bridge. Most of the bridge is hidden inside - it's a massive chunk of metal! Guest Jecklin Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Could you spec' that on any Warwick do you know fretMeister? I have never seen it before. Looks great! Quote
Lw. Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Nice - probably the only Warwick that looks good with a pickguard IMO. Quote
fretmeister Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I've only ever seen them on the Flashbacks. No doubt Warwick custom shop will do whatever you can pay for though! Quote
inthedoghouse Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Thanks for all your nice comments everybody :-) Jecklin - here's the photo of them together you asked for :-) Quote
Guest Jecklin Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Cheers inthedoghouse. That's a great trio!!! Quote

verb Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Nice collection of Fortress' I think the 2-Tec bridge was standard on the Flashback originally, the standard 2 piece bridge/tailpiece was used on later custom shop built Flashbacks(I'm going from memory so forgive me if I'm wrong) I have a 97 Fortress one in red high polish stain with a maple neck, I replaced the stock electrics with EMG pickups and an Aguilar OBP 3 preamp.
Thanks, Verb - I really like the Fortress series too, in case it wasn't obvious :-) I think you're right about the 2-Tek bridge being standard on the first issue of Flashbacks, then they started installing the Warwick two-piece bridge we all know. Maybe you could post a pic of yours sometime? :-) Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Those Fortresses are all gorgeous, and that bridge! I had never seen the like before. Can I join the club with my own Fortress? Rockbass I'm afraid, but a nice 5er Quote

karlfer Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Following is copy/paste from another thread Quote. "After much research, it would appear that the first run of Flashbacks (96/98) only about 60 were made. These had the 2TEC bridge. The second lot, about 150 made between around 98/2000 had the usual 2 piece Warwick bridge." Quote
