mrn1989 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Paul Simons Graceland has been all I've been listening to at work today, Bakithi has amazing tone and technique so I though I'd share this for all! Turn it up load and soak it up! http://youtu.be/OMJbJJldSNw Edited August 5, 2015 by mrn1989 Quote
cheddatom Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 yes, one of my favourite albums and the bass playing is a big reason for that Quote

Funky Dunky Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Just an absolutely blinding creative force. Pretty much the only fretless stuff I like is his playing on Graceland. Edited August 8, 2015 by Funky Dunky Quote
AndyTravis Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Is it not time Washburn issued a BK signature b-40? They could get the Aguilar pickups in and do a fretted version too. The pickup placement on that bass is very widely spaced so must give something to the sound too - I've seen him playing Modulus, Ken Lawrence and I think a Fender (red MIJ) - maybe an Elrick too, but that original bass is something special. Washburn need to do it 😁 Quote
Funky Dunky Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Dagnammit, just learned that today on Sky Arts, Classic Albums featured Graceland. I've never seen that one, and would lap it up. Need to see if I can get it on demand. Quote
