Chaos Daveo Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Hello folks, I'm currently sporting a Genz Benz Shuttle 9 through a Marshall 4x10 MBC cab. What concerns me is I'm on half volume and its peaking like buggery it didn't cut out but came close at practice , the room was hot mind.Any ideas what's causing this, any help appreciated. Quote
skychaserhigh Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Class D amps do that. It's probably running at or near full volume despite the volume knob being only halfway up. When they get too hot they can cut out for safety. Quote
Chaos Daveo Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Fair play,so just the heat playing a factor ? Quote
gsgbass Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Maybe a heat limiter that kicks in to protect the amp, and cuts off the amp if it's overheating. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Check the fan is working properly - if it's a bit clagged up it won't cool as efficiently Quote
Guest bassman7755 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) If you bought the amp 2nd hand check that the fan has not been disconnected - some people do this because the fan in the shuttles can be quite noisy. Edited August 12, 2015 by bassman7755 Quote
mcnach Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Sorry if I'm missing something.., You say it did not cut out, but it came close to cutting out. How do you know? Or did I misunderstood? Quote
