Angel
Any idea where I can get one? I fancy converting my jazz as I miss the P sound that I had with my old jazz bass.
Naetharu
Adrian at Maruszczyk is currently making me one for a P/MM (PJ but with an MM humbucker) - it's costing 45 euros including postage which seems pretty reasonable to me. Lead time is around 2 weeks since its being custom made in Poland and then shipped over. Might be worth contacting him to ask?
BassBunny
The Bass Doc on here. He seems to be the "go to" man for scratchplates. Failing that Mike Walsh of Iceni Zoot fame will do one.
miles'tone
I ordered one from Warmoth. Their's are great as it comes down a little bit more south (towards the bridge), so you can get the P pup in the same place as on a Precision. I had a regular jazz with P rout guard before that but the P pup was too far north and sounded too wooly. The Warmoth pickguard was the only one that I could find that actually has the P rout in the sweetspot, basically. philw
Martin Sims made me a very nice custom scratchplate not long ago and I'm sure he'll make you one too. http://www.simscustom.com/html/home.htm About £45 I seem to remember. P
Angel
Thanks people. I'm less keen on SIMS. Apart from being expensive generally, I got them to make me a tele body and neck some years ago, and the fit between the two was very poor in my eyes - about a 1mm gap between neck and top join of pocket. If they had made the neck too big I could have shaved it down a bit.
