Amp/cab to go with p-bass

I'm looking for a reasonably lightweight amp and cab (or combo) that will work well with a Fender Precision. Gigs will be mainly pubs, with a few larger venues for functions.

My budget is £500 max.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Difficult on that budget, tbh... but I'd look at an Ashfdown combo... pref 210 and their 15's aren't that great, IMO..and then add antoher 210 to get something close to a 500 ext combo rig..

If you can scrape together another 50 quid, This would be ideal.
You may of course get them cheaper 2nd hand.

Yup, the 121p is where it's at for me - absolutely great little combo and you can always add the NY121 extension later if you feel the need. It's plenty loud enough on its own, though.

I would think that the Fender Rumble 500 v3 would fit the bill. It is certainly within your price band new. I had 10 mins on the 200 version and was pretty impressed.

Best amp for a 'P'bass? Anything. Literally anything. P basses just slice through a band mix with plenty of 'oomph' to spare.

Massive +1 on this. I've got the 500 and 115 extension cab, and a 40 for home use. Superb amps/cabs, and with the vintage tone selected, these bad boys are just built for Precisions!

Those new rumble combos do sound very nice indeed. Seems to me like one of those would do a good job for you. Not to heavy either which is a bonus.

Is the amp and cab going to be the main sound source the audience hear? Or do you DI to the desk often?

This amp/cab will be the source of bass.. We don't DI for normal-sized pub gigs.
