Telebass Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Have really had a good clear-out over the last few months. Now just two basses left, my Fender bitsa and the Squier P5. Everything I need, nothing I don't. Quote
CamdenRob Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) I'm down to two now as well... One fretted and one fretless.. Edited August 11, 2015 by CamdenRob Quote
such Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I was down to two (a 4- and a 5-string), now I'm up to three: a 4-string jazz, a 5-string PJ and 4-string fretless. Now I only need a Wal Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I applaud all of you who are doing this. It's not easy As some people say "they're only pieces of wood" Make sure you don't get any withdrawal symptoms Quote
Naetharu Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hehe, well I think I am going the other direction. Started playing back in April, with a little squire. Then up to two with an Ibanez...and now the third is on its way from Germany... Quote
bassix Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I think for those talented forum members who can and do play a multitude of styles then more than two basses is perfectly reasonable. For us less abled bassists I think two would do just fine. Quote

uncle psychosis Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I've only got two basses, and one only ever gets played if the first one has a problem (not happened yet...) Quote
Telebass Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 I don't see anything wrong with having loads of basses. It's just become unnecessary for me. And I'm impressed by all the extra space I have! Quote
Same here at one point I had more basses than space to keep them, especially since I was not playing live, and with a family that needed the space a bit more. So now I'm down to 3 my 1964 Hofner Violin bass & my 1989 Squire precision, both of which now have been stored away (just sentimental value now). And my 1 bass that I play now is a 2014 US Precision and I feel better for it. Quote

Machines Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I don't think I'll ever be able to have less than 5. I just like the variety. Quote
mattbass6 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) I'm down to 2 after much horse trading and selling. My '86 Precision has been with me since it was bought for me in '86 and that, will never go. My Vigier Excess 5 is my "go to" bass and that will remain so from now on, I'm quite confident about that. I am looking for a back up to No.1 and have my eye on a cheeky little, Precison Deluxe V bass. Once the back up is in place, I know I will be sorted for the foreseeable Edited August 17, 2015 by mattbass6 Quote

Squier P5 and a Harley Benton HB550fl deko - amazing bass for 38 quid 😵 (couldn't bring myself to defret the Squier!) Quote
Kiwi Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I have loads of basses and I only really play two with any frequency. Quote
spongebob Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Blimey! I only have two, always feel guilty for having more than one! Quote
grandad Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Recently down to 2 & trying to stay with just 2, both 32" scale. Tokai USGB43 Aria Pro II CSB 380 Quote
Musashimonkey Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Recently got it down to 4, but soon to be 3. I know I should only really have two max, a fretted and fretless 😢 Quote
Highfox Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015
And why not?
I'm getting Wal gas and that's dangerous. Quote
