Matt finish?

Hi all,

Does anyone here have a bass with a matt finish? I am in the process of doing one of my old basses up and am thinking of a matt black/dark grey finish. Any issues? I'm thinking it may be a fingerprint magnet!!

I have a satin black guitar... it's one of these




I wouldn't say it's any worse for finger prints than a regular finish, I quite like it actually.

I Have a matt black bass. Fingerprints aren't a problem. However after 10+ years the matt finish has evolved into a satin in various places where it is being polished by my playing.

I imagine that looks quite good though?

I like natural wear like that.

Yeah, my stealth Bongo is getting a bit shiney where my forearm rubs on the body. I still love the Matt finish though.

It's getting a bit too shiny for my tastes on the back of the neck and where my forearm rubs against the body. At some point it will be "re-matted"!

I've got a USA stingray SUB and the texture Matt finish is indestructible, had it for 8 years and not a scratch on it, go knows what they did but it works!

My Maruszczyk Elwood 5a has a matte Finish...

mines got a nice semi matt finish, more matt than not (also an excuse to post it again )
