Thomann pricing weirdness

I'm looking at some parts on the Thomann website and noticing something odd about their pricing. The prices shown in the list view are different from the prices when I click on individual items. For example;

[url="http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_bass_tuner_machine_chrome_left.htm"]http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_bass_tuner_machine_chrome_left.htm [/url]The same part is now 8.50 Euro or £6.00.
It can't be a conversion issue as the Euro prices are different too.
Has anyone else come across this? I've no idea which price is the one I'd end up paying! A couple of other items are doing it too, some changing upwards and some downwards when viewing the individual item.

We have things like this happen on the website I work on at work. It's most likely a caching issue where either the search results list view or the product page are cached and haven't updated with the new price.

Thomann's prices do change frequently. The Avalon U5 DI has varied massively over the last few months.

I've seen similar confusing things. You always need to check your pricing at checkout.

Yes, the price was different again when I added things to the basket. I'm not sure what's going on there - I guess their product range must be large enough that keeping the website consistent and up to date becomes difficult. Still, I had a 20 Euro voucher for reviewing some strings and a gigbag from my last order, so I was still quite happy with the final price.

It always says " £ price is a guideline " below the Euro price. This no doubt is to cover the cache issue Mornats mentioned.
Exchange rates change by the minute.

This isn't related to cache in the way we normally talk about cache, but about you being charged in their currency, and the real exchange rate being retrieved [b]after[/b] you have confirmed your order.
IOW all the numbers you see in your own currency are guidelines, normally including the very last numbers you see.

This would also mean that if the goods are not in stock, and dramatic changes occur in the exchange rates, you could be charged a considerably different amount in your own currency when your card is charged when the goods are sent - - something you normally either have accepted as part of their sales policy, and/or they have software in place to warn you in case it gets to be more expensive, and they give you a new chance to decide.

The Euro price was changing too, so it doesn't look like an exchange rate issue.

A good while back they raised the price on some items in my order,I'd ordered late Sunday night and the rises were added 1st thing Monday morning.
The difference was refunded as soon as I queried it,might be worth an email to them if it happens again.

if you contact them with the lower price to be confirmed they will probably sell at that.

I've just bought a Digitech Jamman from Woodbrass who are based in France and their prices were lower than Thomann or GAK by between £3-£10 with free delivery on items over £99.
Paypal payment and invoice was exactly what they quoted.

Might be worth a look.
