cheddatom Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I don't use one myself, but I have improvised them for other players who come into the studio. If you want a big, loud, compressed or overdriven sound, it's very important to mute all un-used strings, and apparently a significant portion of bassists are less good at this than they realise.
