Guest bassman7755
Tears of a clown - everyone should experience the zen-like trance state induced by having to play 1/2 beat out of step with the rest of the band. Run to you - an exemplar of how to apply melody, counter melody and harmonic awareness to lift a song to new level.

Jazzneck
You don't need tab. Just put a scratchy old 45 rpm copy on your record player, play it at 33rpm with the treble down and the bass up, left ear 4" from the speaker and you'll get it. Starts on two of C, third note is E, then C again, then D...... Now you can finish it

This post is more about single riffs for everyone from complete beginner to advanced playing, I think anyway!

Great to hear Queen's 'Dragon Attack' again...i had forgotten about this track from my youth and forgotten what a great straight groove should sound like. Thanks for the Spotify. Can I add 'Portrait of Tracy' Jaco if it hasn't already been done. Ayurvedic by Ozric Tentacles and Springling of Clouds by Gong
