Does anybody have any good recommendations for jack plugs for making up your own cables?

I usually use Neutrik, but just curious if there's anything else out there that's worth considering?

Cheers

I would suggest Neutrik NP2X straight jacks and NP2RX right-angle versions. Compared with all others that I've seen Neutrik are a better design than most others being completely rivetless, i.e.no joins in the signal path , and have a superior cable clamp system.

Other good quality option is the Switchcraft range. Usually a bit more expensive than Neutrik and not necessarily worth it for most applications but I like them for their compactness and robustness.

In the shop I work in we binned off everything except Neutric and Amphenol. The cheap stuff is really not worth the hassle. It's a job you want to do right and once as it eliminates so many problems and lets you get on with playing. Beware of cheap imitations or ones that are "like" a neutric, a lot of them are very poorly toleranced and are often too large in diameter and cause damage to the Jack socket in your guitar/amp/fx/speaker.

I would too. Nothing better imo.

Another vote for Neutriks from me. If you're going to spend time and money building something, particularly for live use, then quality wins every time.

Buy cheap, buy twice. ;)
