thebrig
I have just put a Hotrod Thumper in my self-build precision bass and it is so much quieter than all my other precisions, I have six to compare it to and it is definitely lacking, although I do love to tone! Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem with the Thumper.
cameltoe
Nope. I had a Wizard Thumper (old company-same p'up) and it had perfect bite and output for my needs. Compared to my Roadworn P bass, (which Fender say uses a U.S. Standard pickup- I emailed them and asked) it had slightly more of both. It should have plenty of heft with a nice thump and a touch of grit. Either it's wired up wrong or the pickup is defective. Maybe try and measure the output if you have a meter? thebrig
I used a wiring harness from KiOgan, so the wiring should be sound. The pickup is a bit closer to the strings than on my others, but if I plug another precision in without changing the settings, the volume is much higher. Lozz196
I had one of those pickups and didn`t notice any specific volume drop.
mike257
Another happy Thumper owner here, although from the Wizard days.
