They can't have all been robbed of their speakers and then chucked on the bonfire surely?

I get all nostalgic for stuff like this. First band in I was in we had a pair of VOX 4x10s I think, then later upgraded to a full 100watt Fender PA. head and columns (with 4 x 1/4 jack inputs)

Wouldn't mind getting a pair just for the rehearsal studio for old time sake.

My son's band were given a pair of the Marshall ones about 15 years ago.
Each one contained a pair of Celestion 25w 12" Greenbacks and a pair of 10"s.
Sadly the speakers were worth more than the full cabinets.

It is a mystery, as was BLs inability to build a gearbox that lasted. There must be a 'graveyard' like elephants or aircraft in USA. These columns are just awaiting rebirth as SMLA with NHD in marketing speak - SMall Line Array, Narrow Horizontal Dispersion. I would quite like to find a set and put some 'reasonable' (not premium) speakers in and see how they perform. Cabinets were usually quality Birch ply.

Being the youngest member of my first band (16) I was always relegated to the back of the Ford Thames 400E. Thus, the rear load area became my domain and the humble 4x10 or 4x12 column became my settee.

That's really surprising! I know a guy with a set of all original Marshall vertical 412s and he calls them his pension!
