Dubs Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Why does it say on the homepage that “We have 3952 registered members” when new members have member numbers in the 4100s? EG – TheDarkReaver (who joined 28/08/08) is member number 4124. I’m such a f***ing geek for noticing this kind of thing, but even more so for posting a bloody topic about it! (i really don't have anything better to do other than notice this kind of thing) Quote
TheDarkReaver Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) Ooh, I got mentioned. On the subject of strange numbers; I've noticed some threads with a large number of replies but no views, how is this possible!? Edited September 2, 2008 by TheDarkReaver Quote

I’d guess that the data about the number of replies is instantly recorded due to the nature of it. Honestly…I don’t have a clue Quote

Including one member called Bob_from_accounting. Bob, if you're out there, don't be a stranger mate. With that nick I think you'll fit in fine. Quote

Guest MoJo Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Bob_from_accounting was probably discovered surfing the pages of Basschat on the company computer and is now Bob_on_income_support hence his inability to validate his account Quote
BassMunkee Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Interestingly - (or not) - I am a SQL DBA, although not a MYSQL one, and the row-level locking bit spoke to me in a very real and very nerdy sense... Quote
peted Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I should think that all those non-validated accounts probably came from forum 'bots which tried to register in order to spam the forum, but were foiled when they had to activate their account. Well done Admins! Quote
