ezbass Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Another one of the annoying FaceBook things, but a bit of fun. This was the quote that really sucked me in, "Take the test below and find out if you're a human metronome or a bass player's worst nightmare." http://www.thelooplo...st-and-find-out I got 898, I wish I could've used my foot on the mouse, but that might've been expensive. Nicko Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Only 811 for me. Do we have any drummists we can use as a reference point? Quote
lowdown Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Interesting... I got 898 with the mouse, but tapping on my iPad, 922. Quote
RichyJ Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 895 highest. Seems it works on the release of the mouse button not the press, not ideal for timing. Quote
Cameronj279 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Only done 3 attempts but got 860. Don't think that's too bad really considering I almost never play with a metronome (I am however going to start using one...so I tell myself.) Edit : Slightly addictive this. about 15 goes I'm now upto 900 on the dot Edited August 20, 2015 by Cameronj279 Quote
Cato Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 After multiple attempts 878 with right hand, 893 with left hand (I'm right handed) & 832 the time the program ran without sound so I had to guess where the beat was based on previous attempts. Quote
discreet Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 920, but then my natural timing is based on the vibration of an atom of elemental Cesium in my cerebellum. Quote
ubit Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I frequently keep time in my beat group so I will not resort to cheap arcade games to tell me I'm not good at it. Actually, I'm scared to do it in case I'm shown up ! Quote

ChunkyMunky Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 956. Count in 16th notes, don't think about rushing or dragging and you should be gravy. Quote

funkgod Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 god ...im crap i keep gettin 50. eeerrrrmmmm anyway... its grooveless... yea.. and i always play infront of the beat anyway.... and eerrr im using an old mouse..... Quote
The Badderer Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 It's something you have to keep repeating to get the mouse clicking in time. My foot was staying perfectly in time, but I'm buggered if I can manage to click my mouse pad in time with my foot. Progressed from 700 - 823 but really can't be bothered to keep hitting my mousepad! Quote
tauzero Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 806 after 5 pints. That's close enough for rock'n'roll, especially as I was putting a bit of feel into it. Now to get Mrs Zero to do it, to see whether I should confiscate her tambourine... Quote
PlungerModerno Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Got 820 (roughly) the first attempt - then I started to try to figure it out and now I'm averaging closer to 790/800. Could mean I need more time with a metronome - or that the mouse clicking is not working for me. Can't press it consistently. Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I used the space bar, and got 905. Quote
ubit Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 The thing is, keeping time by feel is not necessarily the same as a machine keeping time, so if you are getting 700 or 800 odd, you are still pretty much in time to the human ear, so I am not going to worry too much about it. I kept trying and on my iPhone , the best I could get was 877. Tapping an iPhone screen is not really ideal. It's fun but I don't really think it is a measure of how you should give up playing cos you are useless! Quote
ProfFrink Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 (edited)
god ...im crap i keep gettin 50.
Not sure if you're being serious but if you are - look at the top of the page after you're done, not at the bottom. Got me confused too... It's a nice game, and the nice thing about it is that I actually got better at it after a few goes. So it's both fun and educational Edited August 23, 2015 by ProfFrink Quote
Skol303 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 860 first time round. Then 855. Then 653... I'm getting out of here before I get any worse Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I'm planning to try this as soon as I migrate from bass to mouse on stage. Quote
