Mickeyboro Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 If so, I'd quite like to pick your brains about his musical philosophy! M Quote
Len_derby Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Like his music. Seen him play live. So, what's to picky Micky? Quote
ubit Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Totally love his work but not impressed when they cancelled most of their European tour because Patrick hurt his shoulder! Fair enough, but no rescheduled dates. Take a leaf out of Dave Grohls book guys! Quote
Mickeyboro Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 I have to interview him on Monday and wondered if there were any burning questions DA fans would ask in my place. He has launched a new side band the Arcs, hence the conversation. Quote
discreet Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Ooh. Ask him if he's still committed to the Black Keys and when their next album is out. Quote
ubit Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 When are they coming back to the UK to finish their tour? Quote
LayDownThaFunk Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015
When are they coming back to the UK to finish their tour?
This. Turn Blue was an awesome record. Why cancel dates and not reschedule? Quote
rOB Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Yes I really like his work. What's the new band like? Quote
ubit Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015
Yes I really like his work. What's the new band like?
I don't want to knock him as , as I said earlier, I love his work, but the side project sounds just like the Black Keys. Not a bad thing, but if you are looking for a massive journey into different a different style, then you may be disappointed. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Is it Black Keys with a better drummer? Quote
rOB Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015
but the side project sounds just like the Black Keys.
I see, will have a listen. Thanks Quote
cameltoe Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Don't ask him what Jack White's beef is! Do ask him if he has plans to do another Blakroc album. Quote
Mickeyboro Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 Thanks fellas - I did put the question about the aborted BK UK tour, but he was clear that 4 1/2 years of Turn Blue was enough. Only the second interviewee I've had (the first being Andy Summers) who balked at mention of the group with which he found fame... Oh, and he's taken up (and enjoyed) playing a Mustang bass in the studio, so maybe there's hope Quote
Hector Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) You could ask him about his work with Dr. John maybe? Think DA produced his latest album Edit - second most recent, my bad. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locked_Down_(album) Edited August 27, 2015 by Hector Quote
