The Admiral Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 (edited) Picked up in Aldi for £2.99, which given the quality, is ridiculous. Clearly, they are not for pros, but certainly good enough to get you out of a hole, and let's face it, it's usually the bass player who does the boring stuff like think about what might go wrong, and having the kit to fix it. Includes a small 'tester' screwdriver too. Very handy. Edited August 28, 2015 by The Admiral Quote
gary mac Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Cheers Admiral. Might have to get a set of them. Quote
stevebasshead Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Gotta love the Aldi middle-aisle-of-mystery! Great bargains there Quote
TimR Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I'd be very wary of tools that are that cheap. 1000v VDE. You're trusting your life on a set of £2.99 screwdrivers. They may well be genuine and sourced properly but I'd want to have a good look at where they're made. There have been a spate of fires and people dying from fake iPhone charges from EBay - manufactured in China. Quote

I'm thinking more of handles off cabs and reluctant battery covers on pedals etc. Quote

Don't expect them to handle anything that requires a bit of pressure without rounding off or twisting. Quote
mrtcat Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Many of Lidl's "Parkside" brand power tools come out of the same factory that also produce Bosch tools. When you open them up lots of the parts are identical. Not necessarily ideal for pro use but far better quality than the usual Black & Decker, Worx etc that you find in big box diy stores. Quote
ribbetingfrog Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Glad it's not just me that is the prepared one in the band. We're a selfless lot us bassists ! Quote

Happy Jack Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Not sure about these. I find a hammer works best. Quote
Mr H Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 On a similar theme, Home Bargain sell a wood touch-up kit for £1.99 which might come in useful for basses as well as furniture, doorframes etc. Some enterprising so-and-so is selling them at a considerable mark-up in the guitars section of eBay.
