B.Flat
Hi I am looking for advice and opinions on fitting a coil splitting switch to the front MEC pickup of my Corvette 4$$. Ideally would want a 3position switch to give single front coil/ original configuration/ single rear coil. Does anyone want to tell me how to wire it and if I should anticipate any hum problems? What do you think
B.Flat
Is my face RED !!! The centre position on the $$ micro switches IS single coil. Ok, no choice of which coil but I do not think there will be a noticeable difference. So ignore this topic, and take my advice.......try to stay on small side of 70. Anyone for a GAGA holiday? tauzero
If the coils are in parallel, you'd need a centre-on SPDT toggle eg http://www.axetec.co.uk/guitar_parts_uk_051.htm (the bottom switch, 3 Position Centre ON option) and take the hot of one coil to one throw, other coil to other throw, and the pole goes to where the combination used to go to. Same as the switching on a Les Paul guitar.
