cd_david
Ive been in touch with Martin McAloon from Prefab Sprout who confirms this to be his old cab and recounted a very RnR story about it and himself on tour in the far east LOL, I shall say no more! steve-soar
I absolutely worship Prefab Sprout and Martin is a massively underated bass player and what a tone, Stingray-graphite neck, done. I can't believe Paddy is going blind. "Life's, not complete, till your heart skips a beat"

Not sure I could justify a Trace Cab though
Dr.Dave
Another Sprout fan - I could certainly justify , I just doubt I can lift it! Hope this sells soon - great cab.

Sure I saw 'em at Leeds (...then) Polytechnic...but have no recollection of the gear used! Would have been around '88.....????[/quote]Saw them at Liverpool Uni 1985 on the "Steve McQueen" tour, I don't think he had this cab back then but his sound was incredible (I was standing right in front of him, as I do with any band I go to see, right by the bassist, did it with Motorhead on the "Iron Fist" tour, couldn't hear for three days). "Words, are just trains, for moving past what really has no name" P McAloon I love Paddy, Swoon.
steve-soar
Come on people, the cabinet and case are easily worth the asking price, just think what replacement hi-power neos could do to this cab.

stingrayfan
Does seem crazy that no-one's biting on this. Looks like a good cab for reggae players! But I guess the market has shifted to smaller, lighter stuff, so you might need to drop the price to spark a rush!
Thornybank
These are almighty! Mine is kinda krusty lookin'. If it was nearer, I would have it in a microsecond and off mine for cheap. But the courier on 60k takes it over the top for me....
Matte_black
I'd get it if it wasn't so huge. Shipping would kill me
bennifer
Moving back up to Lincoln in the next week. Could look into shifting a few bits on ebay and using the money to grab this cab... I love my Trace 2x15 but am after a bit more high end response, and im guessing this would do nicely with a 10 and 18. Also being flightcased is a bonus as my cab's gotten a bit scraped up... Well, I won't guarantee anything, but this things been here for so long I feel like maybe its meant to be, i'll look into it!
Thornybank
This is THE cab for that. I like my 15+10, but the 18+10 is the v. biz when the gig justifies the hump. Luckily my 2x15 is the 4x12 size one, not the tall one....
Hoppo75
Kev mate, When we talk about this being heavy, is it '1 man struggling' heavy, or 'must have 2 people' heavy?
Matte_black
As far as I know it's 50kg...
Thornybank
It is a 1-man lift, but best as a 2-man carry due to the front-to-back dimension. The handles are placed so that it is balanced when carried if you want to have a go, but you have to bend your knees and lift with your legs. A short person won't see over it when carrying.... Shifts significant air, though - and totally worth the lift!

Hoppo75
I'm so, so tempted. Need to have a chat with her indoors and it'll fully depend on me getting rid of the Trusty old 715 combo.
