Bass Pedal Geek Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 If you 're interested, I lined up 7 of my preamp or EQ pedals for a shootout. It is supposed to be an ever-expanding shootout where new pedals will be added as I get my hands on them. The idea is that I use the exact same audio clips i a re-amp setup so every pedal is fed with the same signal to keep the comparison as consistent as possible. For now, I have included the following pedals:

SansAmp BDDI
SansAmp VT Bass DI
BBE Sonic Stomp
Aphex Bass Xciter
Electro Harmonix Bass Metaphors
TC Electronic Spark Booster (it has an EQ section too)
Eden WTDI
Listen to the pedals here... If you have suggestions on which pedals to add next, plese do chime in :-) (I have Ampeg's SCR-DI, the Empress ParaEQ and Aguilar's Tone Hammer pedal on the wishlist.) MacDaddy Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Gotta be the Behringer BDI Quote
nick Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Great list...would be interested to hear how Zeibek Submarine or SFX 'Big Beautiful Bass" compares to them too. Quote
Truckstop Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I think I'll be alone in this, but I much preferred the Bass Metaphors over anything else. Sounds really sweet to my ears! Good resource, thanks OP! Quote

Again, great resource! Quote

b'boom Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 No tube-preamp in the list ? The EBS Valve-Drive, Effectrode Blackbird SR-71 ( work very, very well with my four Gretsch bass ), Shift-Line Olympic MkII ( Hiwatt preamp clone ), Dave Hall preamps, Carl Martin Bassdrive, etc.., should be on the bench test also In any case, you summits a good initiative with these comparative tests. Thank you for that, Bass Pedal Geek. Quote

Nice to hear some of the others as well. Quote
