Trace Elliot GP12 head

Been offered this head, as a trade for my Hartke LH500.
I don't know much about the TE head - but I played a TE combo once, and it sounded great.
Maybe some of you can fill in some of the blanks - is it 300 watt at 4 ohm, and how would you compare it with the Hartke?

Been using the Hartke (actually with a Trace Elliot 4x10 cab), but not completely happy with the sound.
I replaced the Hartke with a TC Electronic, and it sounds great with the TE cab.

I am setting up another rig, and have been offered the Trace Elliot GP12 head for my Hartke LH500.

Indeed, horses for courses. I used to have a big old Trace Elliot rig and loved it to bits - unfortunately my dodgy back went from 'acute' to 'chronic' and I had to sell up and get lighter gear. Cabs were never a problem courtesy of Barefaced. I have tried various small heads over the past few years - TC Electronic RH750, Classic 450, GenzBenz Streamliner 600, MarkBass Little Mark Tube 800. They are all nice in their own way but always seemed to lack 'something'. I recently acquired a version of the Trace Elliot GP 12 head and, for me, it kicks all those others into touch. Getting the tone I like is simple - push in the 'Trace Elliot Pre-shape' button and that's me done. At 12kg it isn't too heavy for my fragile back. It louder than any of the aforementioned heads, too. Some people hate them, some people love them - I love them. It feels like I have come back home after a spell out in the cold, put on a pair of comfy slippers and sat by the fire.
